Janelle Starr & Ryan Starr directors of The North Idaho Chapter of the National League of Junior Cotillions

of Junior Cotillions

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We make learning etiquette FUN!
In January and April the semi-formal balls are held and their duration is 2 hours and 45 minutes. Classes are held on a Wednesday or Thursday, while the balls are held on Fridays for first year students. It is a two year program which is changing the way that young people see themselves and others. Teaching these young men to escort ladies through receiving lines, refreshment lines, and introductions, as well as seating ladies and rising for them in public, showing them courtesies which at one time were basic to our culture. These little courtesies will set young men on a course for success in their lives. They will approach life with more confidence and more strength as a young man and will find that people will, in turn, treat them with more respect. This will set them apart at future job interviews as well.
The second aspect of cotillion is training in social ballroom dance (not to be confused with TV's version of ballroom, such as Dancing with the Stars). They are trained in use of dance cards, appropriately asking a lady to dance, escorting her on and off of the dance floor, and most importantly, how to lead. This can be associated with so many facets of their future.
1. Learning to follow God's lead
2. Learning to lead their family as the head
3. Learning to lead their wife while showing her respect and honor as a leader.
If this sounds like the type of training that you would like for your son and you would like more information, please contact Janelle at bjrstarr@yahoo.com
An initial deposit of $100 is required and another $100 completes the cost by December 15th. You may place a deposit and have your son attend the first class. If he does not wish to return, we will be saddened, but we will return your deposit. Remember, cotillion classes are a great gift for grandparents,aunts and uncles to support. Please consider your son's participation this year. You will be making another young lady's life more rewarding at the same time.
